John Sauer
Sr Principal Engineer
John Sauer is director of technical marketing at Tellabs' global marketing group. In this role, he is responsible for network evolution, with a concentration on Carrier Ethernet.
Prior to this role, Sauer worked on packet product strategy for the Tellabs® 7100 optical transport system. Previously, Sauer held variety of managerial and engineering positions at Motorola and Bell Laboratories.
Sauer has more than 20 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. He holds five U.S. patents related to wireless packet networking and has one patent pending. Sauer holds Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in computer science from Purdue University. He is active in the Metro Ethernet Forum and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
