Tim Doiron
Director Product Marketing and Management
Timothy Doiron is director of product marketing and management in the IP and Mobile Internet Division at Tellabs. In this role, he is responsible for Tellabs® 8800 Multiservice Router (MSR) and Tellabs SmartCore® 9200 Series.
Previously, Doiron was director, product management for broadband products at Tellabs, where he managed marketing multi-service data products and solutions worldwide. Doiron has more than 20 years of telecommunications industry experience. In addition to previous product planning and product management posts at Tellabs, Doiron has held a variety of leadership positions in software engineering, product management, business development and marketing at ARRIS, Ericsson and Southwestern Bell Wireless.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, a Master of Science in electrical engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and a Master of Business Administration from Webster University. Doiron also holds six U.S. patents and is a long-time member of both the IEEE and the Business Marketing Association (BMA).

When Tellabs launched the Tellabs SmartCore® 9200 Series in September, I described it as an engineer's dream project. Since then we've gotten great feedback from customers, media and industry analysts.

I've been fortunate to work on new products several times in my career. Most recently, I worked with a talented group of engineering teammates to bring the Tellabs SmartCore® 9200 Series to life.
Developing a new product is always a bit of science, a bit of art, and a bit of controlled chaos. But in this case, our customers gave us a clear message: we need a network that helps us deliver a consistent quality of experience (QoE) while increasing our revenue and reducing our costs.
