TLC Keyword: 71SAA6X

Orderable part #: GSST71SAA

This instructor-led course provides knowledge of Tellabs 7100 Optical Transport System (OTS) applications, architecture, and signal flow needed to provision and maintain a Tellabs 7100 system. It also serves as the pre-requisite for the following instructor-led courses:

  • Tellabs 7100 OTS Provisioning using Tellabs 7191 Craft Station, FP 6.X
  • Tellabs 7100 OTS Provisioning using Tellabs 7190/7194 Management System, FP 6.X
  • Tellabs 7100 OTS Provisioning using TLI, FP 6.X

This course includes an optional 45-minute end of course knowledge assessment. Participants opting to take the assessment must also enroll in the Tellabs 7100 OTS System Architecture & Applications, FP 6.X - Knowledge Test (71SAA6XKT) when enrolling this instructor-led course.

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Demonstrate how to navigate the Tellabs Portal to access 7100 technical documentation
  • Identify the basics of Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) and ITU G.709 Optical Transport Network Standards
  • Distinguish the different types of 7100 OTS configurations, functions, and applications
  • Describe the function of the Embedded Operations Network (EON)
  • Identify the various Tellabs 7100 OTS management options
  • Identify Tellabs 7100 OTS power requirements and ancillary equipment
  • Identify the 7100 OTS common modules function and location in the 7100 OTS signal flow
  • Identify the 7100 OTS transponder function and location in the 7100 OTS signal flow
  • Identify 7100 OTS special purpose modules, function, and location in the 7100 OTS signal flow
  • Identify the 7100 OTS Packet Subsystem capabilities and supporting hardware
Prerequisites: It is highly recommended that participants have the basic knowledge in:
  • Basic fiber optic transmission equipment & terminology
